For church media and A/V teams
A church A/V booth checklist any volunteer can follow
Volunteers rotate, the board is complicated, and Sunday does not wait. Put the steps on a phone at the booth so the next person in the chair can run the service.

Showtime
Sunday service
- Turn on the mixer, then the amplifiers
- Check every mic and swap dead batteries
- Load the slides and test the projector
- Sound check with the worship team
- Check the cameras and start the stream
- After service, amps off first
What goes on a church A/V booth checklist
Write it for the newest volunteer. If they can follow it, everyone can.
Power on and power off order
Mixer first, amplifiers last on the way up. The reverse on the way down, so speakers never pop.
Mics and batteries
Which mic goes to whom, where spare batteries live, and what a dead pack looks like.
Slides, video and cameras
How to load lyrics and sermon slides, which camera is which, and what to press when the screen goes blank.
Live stream
Start and stop steps, camera switching, and how to check that the stream is getting audio.
Sound check
The order to check the band, the pulpit mic and the room, with a note on starting levels.
When something fails
No sound, feedback, a dead projector, a frozen camera feed: the first thing to check, in plain words.
A page on the phone, not a binder on the shelf
Paper checklists get lost and go out of date. AV Runbook reads photos of your booth, writes the steps for your gear, and gives you a QR code to mount at the booth. Volunteers scan it and tick through the service.
